Ricky Gervais Says, “Jada’s Hair Is No Joke, But I Would Have Made A Joke About Her Boyfriend”
The comedian is thinking of changing his new show called Armageddon to Alopecia.
Ricky Gervais has aired his opinion over what the Best Actor winner – Will Smith, 53, did to Chris Rock, 57, during Sunday’s 94th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. The 60-Year-Old comedian has insisted he wouldn’t have joked about Jada-Pinkett-Smith’s hair loss but would have instead ribbed her about her boyfriend.
“I’ll get it out of the way. I have not got any Will Smith material. I trended when that happened and I was not even there,” Gervais reportedly said while testing new material at a show in London’s Highgate.
He added: “What has it got to do with? People were going, “What would have happened if Ricky Gervais had been doing it (hosting Oscars)?”
“Well, nothing, as I would not have made a joke about his wife’s hair. I would have made a joke about her boyfriend.“

The joke Chris made had referenced Jada’s hair loss due to her alopecia, a condition that Chris was reportedly unaware of. Will had initially laughed about his wife’s hair being short – a line of Demi Moore’s in GI Jane. But then Jada appeared very unhappy and rolled her eyes.

Having smacked Chris, Smith returned to his seat and began yelling: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth. Lupita Nyong’o was among those left baffled.

In June 2020, Jada hit the headlines when singer August Alsina 29, claimed they’ve been in a relationship.

The actress herself later confirmed the affair during a Red Table Talk that they were in an entanglement.
Gervais then also shared he might name his new tour after the condition, saying: “This new material is going to be far my new show called Armageddon, I might change that to Alopecia.”

At his opening monologue at the 77th Golden Globe awards in 2020, Gervais’ skewered ‘woke’ Hollywood and made jokes about Prince Andrew, Harvey Weinstein, and Jeffrey Epstein. He also tackled topics like MeToo and ISIS as he left his A-list audience wincing.

Robert De-Niro, Tom Hanks, and even Gwyneth Paltrow were left with shocking looks as he mocked Felicity Huffman over the college admission scandal.

Gervais didn’t hesitate to brand James Corden a massive p**** and ripped Judi Dench for licking her own private parts in his eight-minute speech. Social media lit with numerous posts praising his takes on the Hollywood establishment at the time. But as expected, a few people had found his comments quite hard to the stomach.
