Ricky Gervais Made Another Legendary Opening And Tom Hank’s Reactions Were Priceless
Exceptional man speaking the truth.
Ricky Gervais is back with his ultimate shading skills. He’s hosting for the Golden Globes for the fifth time and among the things people were waiting for, it was Gervais’ witty remarks at celebrities and entertainment as a whole. He is ready to shade his audiences and it appears that a majority of them still could give applause for his jokes.
Of course, he did not forget his bee- I mean frothy drink.
And they all had it coming when Ricky Gervais was doing an interview before the show started. He said there was going to be some ad libs. We all knew that meant there’ll be some shades to throw.
He begin by talking about how he arrived to the show. Like everyone, he arrived in style.
“I came here in a limo tonight, and the license plate was made by Felicity Huffman.”
And he continued that joke with this. “It’s her daughter I feel sorry for. That must be the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to her — and her dad [actor William H. Macy] was in ‘Wild Hogs.'” This was a jab for her 14-day jail due to a huge college admission scandal.
He continued his verbal jabbing:
“We were going to do an In Memoriam this year but when I saw the list of people who’d died, it wasn’t diverse enough.”
And next, it was Leonardo DiCaprio’s time and he definitely did not see that one coming.
“Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere, and by the end, his date was too old for him.”
Next up was Martin Scorsese who had a lot to say about Marvel. By too much, giving Gervais enough reasons (and materials) to shade him as well.
He began and said, “He said they’re not real cinema and they remind him of theme parks. I agree.”
“Although I don’t know what he’s doing hanging around theme parks, he’s not big enough to go on the rides, is he?”
He also poked on the fact that ‘The Irishman’ was just way too long. But Scorsese definitely looked like he enjoyed it. Right?
He also decided to remind celebrities to stop acting like they’re the wokest form of human being. At least, if they didn’t attend school as long as Greta Thunberg does. Because they’d call their agent if ISIS sets up a streaming platform. LOL.
We can all agree that Ricky Gervais weren’t merely poking – he was jabbing at the truth and teased the heck out of their flaws. He done them all with such style that we were just…. HATS OFF.
And that was how we ended up with Tom Hanks’ reaction.
If you do a little bit of digging or have been following the news, we all know what he was talking about. Frankly, it is hard to fake a smile and laugh as if the joke was not main targeted at you.
“OUCH!” screams Tom Hanks’ expression.
Anyway, we’ll definitely miss his opening monologue.
