Daughter Shares Photo Of Firefighter Dad Catching A 5-Minutes Sleep On Lawn Amid Raging Bushfires

Really heartbreaking!

A woman has touched the hearts of many sharing a heartbreaking photo of her firefighter dad catching a 5-minutes sleep on their front lawn after his tenth 12hour per day battling fires.

With an effort to protect their home and properties, the dad has spent the last 10 days fighting off bushfires for up to 12hours at a time.

‘This is a photo of my Dad getting 5minites sleep on our front lawn. My brother watches over the burning fire at the top of our farm. After which, he (Dad) finished his 10th 12hr per day in a row fighting voluntarily in the community with the RFS NSW.’  Jenna O’Keeffe from New South Wales said.

She added: ‘My family has been battling these fires on our farm and community nonstop for about a month now. They are exhausted, sore and running out of resources. Today I heard my Dad cry saying he has never seen anything like this – ‘it’s never-ending.’

Revealing her dad broke down on Sunday after spending 7days in the front lines of the bushfires battle, Miss O’Keeffe urged people not to become numb to the carnage of the bushfires.

Miss O’Keeffe continued: ‘We are still left with about 50 days of summer. We aren’t even halfway and there’s currently no end in sight. Don’t just catch up on the negativity, the media news, the drama, and the politics. Australia is on fire and there are brave people all over the country fighting voluntarily day in and day out.’
