Woman Gives Birth To Quadruplets After Suffering Three Miscarriages
A dream come true.
The journey into motherhood for Dayna Childress hasn’t been an easy one, but in all, she triumphed despite experiencing three miscarriages. Particularly, at a 4th attempt, an ultrasound revealed the 28-Year-Old and her husband Colby, 27, were expecting quadruplets.
And indeed, the pair welcomed them on June 29th after 28weeks and 6days.
Willis, Willow, and Otto weighed 2lbs 14oz (1.3kg) each, while Simon weighed 3lbs 2oz (1.4kg).
The dream of having a sibling for their firstborn Lincoln has finally come true, and the family couldn’t be happier. Both Dayna and Colby tried for their first child in 2015 and were delighted to know that a baby was on the way after a month of effort. The pregnancy went smoothly, and the pair’s first son, Lincoln, was born in December 2015.
When Lincoln was aged nine-months-old, the pair tried to conceive another baby, but it got to a point Dayna feared she wouldn’t be able to get pregnant again.
But at seven months, the Ohio-based got pregnant and sadly had a miscarriage at 6weeks. She reportedly explained: “Water was the main thing that caused me to get nauseous in that pregnancy and with my son, so I noticed the minute it went away and drank lots of water to try to get nausea back,” Dayna added that a week after nausea stopped, tests confirmed she had miscarried and was devastated as she couldn’t accept it.
Soon after, Dayna got pregnant again but had miscarried at four weeks. Her concern got heightened, and she had to seek the help of gynecologists.
She visited four gynecologists to try and detect any fertility problems. “They all responded differently, with the first one telling me to wait three months, then the next said that was pointless and tested my hormone levels which all came back normal.” After numerous consultations, the stay at home was prescribed fertility drugs, which she took for a year before she eventually conceived.
