‘Shocked’ Girlfriend Asked If She Overreacted Over Fiance Inviting His Mom To Their Honeymoon

Anyone can tell that having a parent over during a honeymoon is the weirdest thing ever. A woman shared how she’s about to be in this exact situation with the internet and asked if she was wrong to have gotten mad over it because her fiance did not consult about it with her beforehand.

With a now-deleted account to protect her privacy, she asked the masses, “AITA for getting mad when my soon-to-be husband wants to change our honeymoon to family vacation?”

The woman shared that they’ve been planning for their wedding and had been discussing their honeymoon. She prefaced by mentioning that there are only four months left before the wedding.

“At first a few months ago, he said he wanted to change our honeymoon to family vacation so his parents and my mom can get along know each other more,” she talked of their earlier plans. “I agreed, so we researched where to go and for how long.”

But then he changed his mind just a few weeks later and thought it would be better without the parents because he has a “rough” relationship with them.

To which she agreed, and she went on to research for a plan good for them both.

Then it changed again just a few days ago, and she went into details, “I was shopping with my soon to be mother-in-law, and on the ride home, my boyfriend asked her if she wanted to join in our honeymoon.”

“I was shocked and mad, but I stayed silent.”

“After we drop off her Mom, I asked him how if my mom doesn’t want to go with us (my mom really said she don’t want), he said it’s ok and we can just go with his family,” she continued. She didn’t want to “ruin the mood” and decided not to ask about it because they had another plan.

“After I went home, I text him said that I’m mad about that sudden change, rant a bit, as usual, every time I am angry,” she continued. But at the same time, her fiance told her she was making a “big deal” out of a trivial issue. And now they were giving each other the silent treatment.

“I’m not mad because he changed the plan; I am mad because he didn’t talk to me first before asking his mom,” the woman revealed her true feelings. “I still think I have the right to get mad but am also feeling guilty for making a fuss about something so small.”

She shared their age gap, which gave many readers an insight into the possible dynamic the couple might have. And as it turns out, she was only 22 while her fiance was already 33.
