Rita Ora And Taika Waititi Has Tied The Knot In London
They want to “keep their relationship as private as possible.”
The couple managed to put their marriage under wrap, away from the eyes of their fans. Rita Ora finally said yes to her director fiance, Taika Waititi, in an intimate ceremony held in London.
A source spilled the beans to The Sun UK, “It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.”
The “Let You Love Me” singer has also changed her name to Waititi-Ora and was the one who wanted to keep things for only close friends and family members because she wanted to “keep their relationship as private as possible.”
“A big, showbiz-style bash is planned to celebrate, but don’t expect to see it being flogged to the highest-bidding magazine.”
It was also reported that last month, the 46-year-old director had made an almost “simultaneous” wedding proposal as his fiancee. But it’s not like they weren’t about to have some summer fun after a quiet ceremony in London. A source spoke with The Sun UK, “This isn’t about them doing a big showy thing and crowing about it beforehand.”
“It’s just about them being in love and deciding the time is right to formalize their relationship.”
Last year in May 2021, fans got ahold of news of their romantic relationship when paparazzi snapped a picture of the two locked in a kiss while actress Tessa Thompson was also there. After it went viral, Waititi said, “I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick.”
“And also, ‘Is it that big a deal?’ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine,” said the director, who made a red carpet debut with Rita Ora on “The Suicide Squad” premiere.
Waititi was previously married to Chelsea Winstanley from 2011 to 2018 and share two daughters, Te Hinekāhu, 10, and Matewa Kiritapu, 6. They quietly split up in 2018.
