Mila Kunis And Her Husband Ashton Kutcher Pledge $3 Million To Her Motherland Ukraine

“Standing with Ukraine means supporting Ukrainians.”

Nearly a week ago, Ashton Kutcher – the husband of Ukrainian-born actress Mila Kunis made a powerful tweet standing with the people of Ukraine. Now, his wife Mila Kunis has finally broken her silence on the Russian invasion and has pledged to match up to $3million in donations with Ashton for Ukrainian refugees.

It’s Mila’s first time publicly talking about the devastating conflict in her native country.

In a short video with Ashton, the powerful couple shared with the world that they’ve launched a GoFundMe to raise money for the relief efforts in Ukraine.

“I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983. I came to America in 1991. I’ve always considered myself an American. A proud American. I love everything this country has done for myself and my family. But, today I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian,” Mila said.

Mila added: “The events that have unfolded in Ukraine are devastating. There is no place in this world for this kind of unjust attack on humanity.” Ashton applauded the bravery of the people of the country that [Mila] was born in and emphasized the importance of paying witness to “the needs of those who have chosen safety.”

He explained: “We’re raising funds to support a relief effort that will have an immediate impact and supply much-needed refugee and humanitarian aid to the area.”

“The principal challenge right now is logistics. We need to get housing and we need to get supplies and resources into the area.”

Mila further revealed the charities they have chosen to support are Airbnb.org and Flexport.org. While Airbnb provides free, short-term housing to those fleeing Ukraine, Flexport, a freight transporter, helps organize relief supplies shipments to refugee sites in Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia.

Mila concluded with: “The people of Ukraine are strong and brave but being strong and brave doesn’t mean you’re not worthy of support. We need to support the people of Ukraine.” The Instagram caption highlighted the charities and had a powerful statement that reads: “Standing with Ukraine means supporting Ukrainians.” However, for more info about the GoFundMe, you can click HERE.
