Hilary Swank, 48, Reveals She’s Pregnant With Twins
“It’s such a blessing. It’s a total miracle. It’s unbelievable,” Hilary said of her pregnancy.
“I definitely would like kids someday,” Hilary Swank said in an interview with PEOPLE in 2006. And fortunately, it’s now a dream come true for the “Boys Don’t Cry” star as she is overwhelmed with knowing she’s pregnant with twins. Yes, the 48-Year-Old will be a Mom to not just one but two babies.
From her announcement, one could tell that the Million Dollar Baby star has highly anticipated the experience of motherhood.
Hilary told ‘Good Morning America’ co-hosts that she was excited to share the news while attesting that she couldn’t believe it. “This is something I’ve been wanting for a long time, and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom. And not just of one but of two,” she gushed.
Dressed in a patterned outfit, the Oscar winner, in a later appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, also said: “I’m feeling great right now.”
Cradling her baby bump, Hilary admitted that the crews on her new series Alaska Daily didn’t know she was pregnant until her announcement. She then added: “But my clothes started not to fit, so I had to, the other day, cut [my jeans] open. And then I put a jacket on that wasn’t in continuity. And [they] came and said, ‘That’s not in continuity.’ I said, ‘Oh, I think it works.’
Hilary revealed there are many twins in her family and her husband, Philip Schneider.
The actress has remained expressive over her desire to have children as she also told PEOPLE that it’s “definitely something that I’ve always thought about as a very, very young girl.” She continued: “That would be an important thing to happen for me someday whenever the time is right.” FYI, Hilary tied the knot with Schneider, in August 2018, following two years of courting.
She has had relationships, including being married to 54-year actor Chad Lowe.
Hilary also dated John Campisi, her agent, and was shortly engaged to a financial adviser, Ruben Torres, in 2016. However, the expecting mom had gushed about her first wedding anniversary, writing on Instagram: “It’s been a year. The best of my life…besides the first year…and second year together.”
She concluded: “Happy one year wedding anniversary, to the love of my life.”
Hilary isn’t the first Hollywood star to become a parent in their late 40s. Cameron Diaz experienced motherhood at age 47, as did Halle Berry and Susan Sarandon. Actress Chloe Sevigny had her first child at 45 in 2020, while singer/actress Janet Jackson gave birth to a boy in January 2017 when she was 50. The summer of 2019 saw actress Brigitte Nielsen become a mom at 55.
