Hideo Kojima Prepping Himself With Scariest Movies For Next Horror Game
After Death Stranding, he’s ready to focus on something truly scary.
Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding was a sci-fi action-adventure game that was also lowkey horror. Many, however, consider it more of a movie than a game with many cutscenes telling bizarre stories on the post-apocalyptic world.
Hideo Kojima has always been more popular with his Metal Gear series which fans loved. Death Stranding was not a horror, but the thought of carrying a baby on your back who constantly makes crystal clear noise can really send a chill up your spine. This has brought many fans to love his really weird, lowkey horror side.
And now, Kojima is ready to dive into a full-course horror game world. It’s definitely different from action games which focus very much on gameplay, motion, and mechanics. Horror games require makers to focus much on tension, noises, and ambiance of the game.
He’s readying “to make the scariest horror game” and has actually been watching “scary movies in order to awaken my horror soul.” To be fair, P.T. was a scary horror game that the more you know about, the more you hope you had been in the dark (Lisa was basically hanging on you all the time).
He also added that one of the scariest movies he’s ever seen was a Thai horror called ‘The Eye’ from 2008. It was so scary that he did not finish it at all and even rented the disc because the packaging was too menacing.
