Grimes And Elon Musk Have Quietly Welcomed A Second Child Together
We welcome baby “Y” to our world.
Grimes is now a mom-of-two! The singer and the SpaceX founder have welcomed a second child through surrogacy together. The birth of the newborn, named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, was shared with Vanity Fair Cover Interview by Grimes, who then attested they call the infant “Y.”
It would be recalled the couple’s first baby had been called “X,” the short for X Æ A-12, born in May 2020.
As with the newly born, the name “Exa” is described as a nod to exaFLOPS, a supercomputing term that refers to systems that can calculate one quintillion floating-point operations per second. Grimes explained the term Dark references “the unknown” and added, “People fear it, but truly it’s the absence of photons. Dark matter is the beautiful mystery of our universe.”
The pair’s relationship dates back to early 2018 when they met on Twitter due to their mutual appreciation for jokes about Artificial Intelligence.
Last fall, Musk, however, shared he and Grimes were semi-separated in response to rumors they had broken up. Grimes even released a song that some people have since interpreted as confirmation of the split. But the singer has confirmed to Vanity Fair that wasn’t the case.
As with their present relationship status, Grimes said, “there’s no real-world for it. She’s probably refer to him as [her] boyfriend, but [they’re] very fluid.”
She added: “We live in separate houses. We are best friends. We see each other all the time. We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.” The mom-of-two noted that their partnership is the best it’s ever been right now.
Both Grimes and Elon reportedly plan to have more children as they’ve always wanted at least three or four.
