Dwayne Johnson Takes A U-Turn After Dividing Fans Over Supporting Joe Rogan
The actor has said its “learning moment for me.”
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has seemingly backtracked from his previously stated support for podcaster Joe Rogan. This comes after fans pointed out to the actor Rogan’s “N-word” controversy even though Johnson had supported him on the protest removal of music by Neil Young and other musicians from Spotify, where Rogan’s podcast is licensed.
Days after supporting Joe Rogan, “The Rock” has acknowledged the podcaster’s repeated use of the N-word, branding the revelation a “learning moment.”
Rogan landed himself on a hot seat when singer India Arie shared a montage of clips that showed the podcaster using the “N-Word.” Arie shared the videos to allegedly inform her fans why she was withdrawing her music from Spotify. But before this, Rogan had claimed he was only interested in telling the truth and having interesting conversations.
Just recently, Rogan pledged to “do better” in his discussions of COVID-19 and got The Rock’s support.
In his video [below], the podcaster said: “I’ve never tried to do anything with this podcast other than just talk to people and have interesting conversations.”
In the wake of several artists boycotting the platform in protest against Rogan, the 54-Year-Old has since shared a clip on Instagram, in which he explained: “I’m not trying to promote misinformation. I’m not trying to be controversial. I’ve never tried to do anything with this podcast other than just talk to people and have interesting conversations.
But the viral clip of Rogan using the N-word increased pressure on Spotify to take action on Rogan.
Johnson had at the time commented on Rogan’s explanation video, saying, “Great stuff here, brother. Perfectly articulated.” He also said he looked forward to one day appearing on Rogan’s podcast and “breaking out the tequila with you.” But now, Johnson has second thoughts on these mentioned above comments in light of a compilation of clips showing Rogan using the N-words 24 times. His show of solidarity had come as a shock to many of his fans, who sees Rogan as a much more divisive figure.
“Great stuff here, brother. Perfectly articulated,” Johnson wrote to Rogan in the comment of his video [above].
He added: “Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”
In a resurfaced video, originally recorded eleven years ago, Rogan was seen telling a story about a taxi driver dropping him off in a black neighborhood in Philadelphia and saying it was like he was in “Planet Of The Apes.” As expected, people have condemned Rogan, and author Don Winslow has asked Johnson if it’s in his best interests as a role model to endorse Rogan.
In his recent response to author Don Winslow, who tweeted his backing of Rogan was a “terrible abuse of your power,” Johnson revealed he wasn’t aware of Rogan’s N-word usage.

Thank you so much for this
I hear you as well as everyone here 100%
I was not aware of his N word use prior to my comments, but now I’ve become educated to his complete narrative.
Learning moment for me.

Rogan has since shared a lengthy video over the weekend in which he apologized for his past language. In the clip, he said: “I can’t go back in time and change what I’ve seen said I wish I could obviously that’s not possible. But I do hope that this can be a teachable moment for anybody that doesn’t realize how offensive that world can be coming out of a white person’s mouth, in context or out of context. My sincere and humble apologies.”
However, Rogan has shared a lengthy video in which he apologized for his past language.
However, Spotify has come under pressure to take action against Rogan, accused of spreading COVID-19 misinformation on his show, The Rogan Experience. In January, an estimated 270 Medical professionals wrote an open letter to the streaming giant asking it to take action. Rogan has repeatedly used Spotify to discuss the pandemic and vaccinations, saying young adults don’t need to get a shot.
