After retiring from his villain-busting job in ‘Avengers’, Chris Evans is now in talks to portray for the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. Billy Porter has already confirmed to star in the movie while Taron Egerton and Evans’ co-star Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join as well.
The cult movie will be directed by Greg Berlanti and is based on a Broadway musical that Warner Bros. adapted as a horror-comedy. While Evans will be the mad doctor, Seymour and Audrey might be portrayed by Egerton and Johansson respectively. Porter will be the hungry venus flytrap.
Evans’ role, dentist Orin Scrivello, is Audrey’s abusive boyfriend and is a flashy character that loves using laughing gas. Back in 1986, this role was portrayed by Steve Martin.
The movie is scheduled to begin shooting this summer and is produced by Marc Platt, Sarah Schechter, and Berlanti.
