An anonymous letter sent to the “Dear Prudence” column of the online magazine “Slate” comes from a woman who demands divorce a day after her wedding.
The bride couldn’t stand the disrespect he gave her after she made it clear that it’s not something she tolerates.
In her letter, she asks if she should give him a chance even though she doesn’t love him anymore after that.
Her friends told her that she should give him a chance because she still loves him. But the bride explains that she doesn’t anymore. She has claustrophobia after surviving a car accident and that means she cannot stand being shoved into a cake, which the man chose to cross.
Psychotherapist Jessmina “Minaa B.” Archbold explains that what really makes a relationship works aren’t the things in common, but the extent of care that you have for each other.
“You don’t necessarily have to share the same interests,” the author of Rivers Are Coming: Essays and Poems on Healing explained. “But it means caring enough to learn about each other in order to strengthen the relationship bond, while also learning about each other’s needs.”
The reply to her letter convinces her that nothing is more important than her wishes.
