Johnny Depp Recounts How His Finger Was Severed By Amber Heard In Australia

The trial for $50 million in defamation damages continues as Johnny Depp talks about the infamous Australian fight the former couple had that drove him to the hospital with a severed finger. The 58-year-old started recounting how the 38-year-old actress managed to cause such a bloody scene.

While the most famous ongoing theory had been Heard throwing a bottle at Depp, most don’t know the whole story of it. Depp testified in the court that at the time, he was stressed out and headed for the bar area of their temporary stay in Australia.

“She came down to the bar and found me there and, of course, started screaming,” Depp shared. “She walked up to me and reached and grabbed the bottle of vodka and then just kind of stood back and hurled it at me. It just went right past my head and smashed behind me.”

“My hand was on the edge of the bar, leaning over… and she threw the large bottle, and it made contact and shattered everywhere.”

“I honestly didn’t feel the pain at first, at all. I felt no pain whatsoever. What I felt was, I felt heat, and I felt as if something were dripping down my hand. And then I looked down and realized that the tip of my finger had been severed.”

“I was looking directly at my bone sticking out, and the meaty portion of the inside of your finger and blood was just pouring out.”

The man who had never felt a nervous breakdown continued that that might have been the “closest” he’s ever been to one. He continued, “I knew in my mind and in my heart, this is not life… No one should have to go through this.”

And with his bloody finger, the man started to write on the walls. He said they were “little reminders” from their past that began from “lies that she told me, and lies that I had caught her in.”

Then he hid in the bathroom again before texting his physician about his finger to come over and treat it. When asked about the cause, he lied about it because he “didn’t want to get her in trouble.”

“I said that I had smashed it in these large accordion doors. I lied because I didn’t want to disclose… that it had been Ms. Heard that had thrown a vodka bottle at me.”

“I tried to just keep things as copasetic and as easy as possible for everyone. I did not want to put her name in that mix.”
