Plus-Size Woman Films As Other Woman Laughs At Her At Gym
This looks like one of those bullying scenes from those movies from 2000s.
A plus-size fitness lover shared a viral clip of how people were mocking her for being at the gym with that size. While no direct insult was shot, Bethy Red knows better than most people that she was being looked down upon for what she was doing.
A woman approached her while she was filming her workout. She was in the midst of tying her hair back up.
The woman asked her with a shocked tone, “Girl, what are you doing?”
Her condescending tone continued, “Are you taking videos of yourself?”
A white box was added to conceal the woman’s identity in the video. Bethy answered calmly, “Yes…?”
As if unable to believe the scene that was unfolding before her, the woman asked again, “You are?”
“Well, why? For your documentation or what?” she inquired.
Still calm and collected, Bethy answered, “For my blog.”
Bethy Red is an active social media user who often shares her workout schedule and tips to her 606k followers on Instagram. The plus-size woman often encourage others that simply hitting the gym doesn’t mean you have to look shredded or completely slim.
“We need to normalize that there other reasons why people workout! I’ve met lots of people who enjoy working out!” she shared.
“For those 1-2 hours of forgetting your problems, your pain, your failure; Feeling you can do something good! Feeling strong!”
Bethy shared that she’s been asked often why she never loses weight despite working out so much. She explains that working out doesn’t automatically weight loss for a lot of people and discourages people from asking these questions.
“You don’t know what that person wants from life,” said Bethy. “You don’t know what a person is going through & some don’t have tough skin to not care, and you can make it worst for them!”
The TikTok clip has received 9.2 million views with many feeling disgusted by the woman’s behavior.
Bethy regularly shares how she does her workout and various forms others can follow.
Several users complimented her for handling the situation well. One wrote, “It’s such a shame that people feel the need to project their insecurities onto others in the form of bullying. You handled this really well.”
Another commented, “I’m so emotionally upset over this I’m already going over all the things I wish I said and I wasn’t even there.”
“I will never understand how people like this exist. Just absolute bitterness in their souls. You handled this with grace,” complimented another.
It’s pretty clear that the internet doesn’t approve of this bullying behavior. Props to Bethy for staying cool throughout the situation!
