The 50-Year-Old with a $5.3million net worth revealed she never purchases anything new and even eats cat food to keep her bills down. The Las Vegas-based gives herself a monthly budget of $1000 and ensures she doesn’t go overboard.

Appearing on TLC’s Extreme Cheapskates segment, Aimee claim she has found several tricks to save money, including feeding herself and her guests on cat food. ‘I keep my heater turned off; I need 22 minutes to heat it enough to get a shower, so I turn it on every morning when I get up.’

‘I set it for 22 minutes, so I know exactly when my shower’s ready because God forbid I waste another minute on that water heater.’ Aimee explained, adding that it saves her $80 per month in doing so. Having separated from ex-husband Michael, Aimee was given a house where she lives, and quite startling, Michael offered to help clean the property for free – saving $400 on cleaning bills monthly.

In a year, Aimee saves a total of $200,000 from refusing to buy anything new, and interestingly, she uses the same manky sponge until it falls to bits. Accordingly, she uses one knife and ingests cat food to save about 30 cents on buying tins to tuna.

Aimee admits she feeds cat food to her human guests and prefers to drive four hours each way in her 17-year-old car if she is required to travel. ‘When I go to these extremes, I think people see it, and it annoys a lot of them, but I don’t care. It saves money.’ Aimee insisted.

At one time, she had been informed that her Mustang needed $1000 worth of repairs, but instead, Aimee dashed to the airport, where she opted for a free ride from a pilot. This might appear like a whole new level of craziness to save money, but indeed it does deserve applause!
