Teenager, 18, Raised As A Boy is Now Four Months Pregnant
Brought up as a boy but always felt different!
Mikey Chanel grew up as a normal boy enjoying a happy childhood. But as his teenage years approached, he looked forward to experiencing the same sexual development he observed in older boys. Gradually, he began to have a vague sense and discovered he equally has functional female reproductive organs.

18-Year-Old Mikey from Boston, Massachusetts, is four months pregnant and now identifying as a woman. She was completely different from the boys she grew up with, despite being raised as a male child. Initially, countless tests and scans had determined that Mikey would be born as a girl, but it was the opposite as he was born with male genitalia.
Mikey’s has been different right from the start. From age 5, he had always put on his mom’s lipstick and never did felt like a boy, despite going through a whole boy puberty thing. It turned out; Mickey equally has a bit of facial hair and a feminine-shaped body with hips and butts. Expectedly, he got bullied in school, but the reality of his true-self emerged in third grade.
From age 13, Mikey came out as gay and later pondered if she could be transgender. She underwent routine tests, and the doctors revealed she had internal female reproductive organs. ‘I had a weird feeling after peeing and after sex. So they did an ultrasound of my urinary tract. I was told I had a cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries and could get pregnant if I wanted to. I thought it was a joke, and I didn’t know this was possible. Then they showed my uterus on the screen.’ Mikey explained.
Diagnosed with Persistent Mullerian Duct Syndrome, Mikey is believed to have external male genitalia and female reproductive organs internally. Learning that her male reproductive organs were infertile, Mikey couldn’t, however, turn down the chance of conceiving her child before undergoing a hysterectomy.
Nevertheless, Mikey hopes her story raises awareness of PMDs, highlighting that the condition can happen to anyone. She equally wants to break the societal stigma associated with gender nonconformity.
