Someone Colorized Photos For People Who Don’t Know About Holocaust And It’s Pitiful
Warning: Grab a tissue!
A recently released survey on Holocaust Remembrance Day pointed out that many adults lack knowledge of what had transpired. Similarly, the lack of this knowledge was more pronounced among the millennials. While 31% of adults and 41% of millennials believed two million or fewer Jews were killed during Holocaust, the precise figure had been estimated to be six million. According to the survey, A few couldn’t also say what Auschwitz was, and others had felt Hitler came to power through force.
However, for several years, Joachim West has been working on historical photo projects using a contemporary reference image to colorize and restore pictures from the Holocaust. He has since been sharing them on Facebook but shortly noticed that they weren’t nearly enough and started working on picture restoration a bit more. Following the above survey, West has published again, hoping that colorized pictures will help people better empathize with the victims of the Holocaust. Here we’ve compiled West’s newest (10), guaranteed to cause tears.
