A scared lion was filmed on camera hiding in a tree, escaping from a herd of hundred angry buffaloes in Kenya.

The surrounded animal roared at the buffaloes from its hiding place, but then started slipping off the branches as a result of his weight.
Lucky Cat! As the lion couldn’t climb any further, the herd later lost interest and left, leaving the big cat to run down the tree and escape quickly into safety.

Neelutpaul Barua, 39, took the photos of the hiding lion during a tour in Lake Nakuru National Park.
‘Cape buffaloes do fall prey to lions, but here the tables turned around. A Herd of 100 cape buffaloes chased this scared cat that ending up taking refuge on an Acacia tree.’ Barua from Mumbai said.

Barua continued: ‘Power is most times on the predator’s side, but today his weight was obviously pulling him down as he wanted to be on higher grounds but still kept slipping off. Realizing he couldn’t hang in there, he roared at the herd with the hope of safe passage.’

‘He was outnumbered by the buffaloes on the ground. It was a game of endurance. Such moments in the wild are difficult to come by and its uniqueness can easily overwhelm anyone. I stayed calm and enjoyed the whole experience, took some photos that would sure do justices to the opportunity present before me. In all, the scared cat got lucky!’
