Sarah Paulson Gave Pedro Pascal Her Acting Pay So He Had Enough Money To Eat
“I died so many deaths.”
Pedro Pascal is a star whose name has been heard by many people. Even if you have never heard of his name, you might know him as the man from the ‘Mandalorian‘ that shook Hollywood on its release and quickly became part of pop culture. But at one point in his life, Sarah Paulson had to financially support the man.
Paulson revealed that she used to help out her close friend when he wasn’t a big star yet.
The Golden Globe winner spoke, “He’s talked about this publicly, but there were times when I would give him my per diem from a job I was working on so that he could have money to feed himself. You just want him to succeed. And that to me, I feel like, is the sign of a major movie star.”
The actor himself recalled how he was in a situation where he’d never imagined he’ll be so far up today. The 48-year-old had went through so many rejections and said, “I died so many deaths.”
“My vision of it was that if I didn’t have some major exposure by the time I was twenty-nine years old, it was over, so I was constantly readjusting what it meant to commit my life to this profession, and giving up the idea of it looking like I thought it would when I was a kid.”
“There were so many good reasons to let that delusion go.”
Aside from the ‘Mandalorian,’ he’s also appeared in other major flicks such as ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘Game of Thrones.’ Today, it’s unthinkable that he used to struggle to feed even himself. And that was at a time when he goes by a different name, Balmaceda while appearing in smaller, side roles in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Touched by an Angel.’
He used the name Pascal to remember his mother, who died from suicide in 2000. And today he’s the name that not a single soul hasn’t heard of.
