Russell Crowe Skipped Golden Globe Awards But His Acceptance Speech Was Powerful

He’s back home to protect his family.

The star from ‘The Loudest Voice’ won Best Actor for Limited TV Series or TV Movie on Golden Globes. But he had Jennifer Aniston helped him deliver his acceptance speech as he was preparing to fight for the raging fire just outside his home in Australia.

Jennifer Aniston during his acceptance speech said he was “protecting his family from the devastating bushfires”. Russell Crowe also uploaded a video of his preparation shortly after his nomination was announced. He’s prepared 1,000 liters of water, shovels, hoses and everything you need to fight fires.

He also added to the caption on his gratitude to have worked with Naomi Watts and other fellow actors and actresses.

His speech was his opportunity to remind and warn people of the devastating fire. He wrote, “Make no mistake, the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change-based. We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy, and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is. That way we all have a future.”

He’s also been going full support in raising awareness as well as donating to the ground volunteers, NSWRFS, who are firefighters.
