Science is undoubtedly awesome. It has not only pushed the human race forward in achieving new heights but has become a key to unleashing more secrets about the universe.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), who explores and displays cool stuff about space has recently shared a picture of the Sun on their social media account. Nevertheless, it’s appeared like a giant ball of fire fixed up in the sky, I guess!
Captured by it’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, SDO on October 8, the photograph shows the active regions of the sun combined to look like a traditional Jack-o-lantern face. Perfectly fitting, since Halloween is just right the corner.
NASA captioned the photo: ‘Even our star celebrates the spooky season in 2014. The active regions on the sun brought about this Jack-o-Lantern face, as seen by our Solar Dynamics Observatory Satellite.’
NASA’s SDO was launched in 2010 as part of the Living with A Star Program. Its main goal is to form a scientific understanding of how the Sun/Earth system affects societies and life on the planet.
The image is a combination of two sets of Ultraviolent wavelengths named 171 and 193 Angstroms. They are colored in gold and yellow, which in turn gives an image of a creepy Halloween pumpkin look.
Images on the owner’s Instagram show the McLaren P1 submerged in water caused by Hurricane Ian.
The Fairview fire has spread rapidly on the outskirts of Hemet in Riverside County.
It’s said to be contrail from a commercial jet.
We need to undo the damages.
Wishing for everyone to stay safe!
