Man Leaves The Internet Divided After ‘Embarrassing’ His Wife

She calls it a ‘little white lie.’

Is it wrong to call out your partner in front of everyone else? In hindsight, this might seem to be so. You don’t expose someone’s weakness in front of people because who doesn’t have one? Moreover, that’s someone you vowed your entire life to, someone you claim to love.

To love means you don’t let everyone knows about their wrong when you can help it, right? Well, that’s the dilemma that’s overcoming a man who ended up calling out his wife’s lies in front of her friends.

“AITA for calling my wife out after she called herself the breadwinner?”

The man started by explaining that he doesn’t agree with the term ‘breadwinners.’ But when he and his wife held a small party to celebrate how their area is clear now. Naturally, the conversation would surround the pandemic and eventually to the topic of the financial situations.

It was then when the wife said that she was the ‘breadwinner’ of the family casually. But husband clarified that even when he was let go for a month, he was making 50% for more.

The wife then told him that he embarrassed her.

She told her that it was a ‘little white lie’ she made up to her friends a few months ago. She plans to keep it up, but no reason was stated. Yet, the husband still thinks that was a bad idea. Why keep up a lie that doesn’t do anyone any good? Especially in front of his friends as well?

The people of Reddit responded.

One responded, “NTA (not the a**hole) – I mean you did kinda embarrass her, but it’s understandable considering she’s lying and acting like it’s not really a big deal by calling it a “‘little white lie.'”

“I mean, you’d think she would either clear it with her partner before she brought it up or just… not bring it up. It’s quite a gamble to assume you can blatantly lie in front of someone who knows the truth and that they wouldn’t correct you. Even if it’s your partner.” replied another who agreed.

Another commented, “I would say that everyone sucks, but she was blatantly lying in front of your friends, not hers, in that sense, she embarrassed you, and you embarrassed her right back. NTA.”
