Kris Rock’s Comedy Tour Ticket Price Goes $46 To $411 After Oscar Smack
Post=apology from the ‘Hancock’ actor, Chris Rock is enjoying the fame.
The next stand-up session Chris Rock is attending at the tour will have tickets priced at almost ten times the cheapest ticket. The 57-year-old comedian’s latest headline was being slapped on Oscars 2022 when his ‘G.I. Jane’ joke did not feel right for Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
But besides a hard slap on a live TV, the man experiences an insane surge in ticket sales for his next performance.
Online ticketing platform TickPick tweeted, “We sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the past month combined.”
P.R. member of TickPick, Kyle Zorn, has shared the numbers. The cheapest price ever found on the marketplace was on March 18 at only $46. After the slapping, the ticket’s price skyrocketed and was $411 at the lowest price available.
Chris is on his last day for Wilbur Theatre’s session and will be starting his Ego Death World Tour on April 2. The tour will be in 30 different cities, including New York, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle, Oakland, Toronto, and Chicago, with Dolby Theater in L.A. being the last location by November 17.
Yes, the very same Dolby Theater he was slapped at by Will Smith.
The comedian, who was hosting the 94th Academy Award, was slapped after he jokingly told Jada, who’s struggling with alopecia, that she could be featured in a ‘G.I. Jane’ movie which was about a female SEAL member that shaved her head by choice.
Smith has issued an apology to the comedian, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line, and I was wrong. I am embarrassed, and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”
