Kim Kardashian Says She’s ‘Having Panic Attack’ After No More Kanye West As Her Stylist
“He told me my career is over.”
Kim Kardashian talks about how not having Kanye West by her side had made her panic over what she should wear. The 41-year-old had lived a big chunk of her life being styled by the man who cleared out her wardrobe.
She remembers being compared to Marge Simpson when West saw her strut on the red carpet for the first time without her.
Kim had become the face of Balenciaga per West’s direction when it came to her fashion.
West’s attacks on Kim did not begin with fashion, and during the time, Kim had just returned from her SNL skit, which irked her then-husband. She told Kourtney Kardashian, who was visiting her, “He did an interview last night, saying that SNL got me to say that I divorced him.”
While going on a hike with Khloe, she continued speaking on the topic. Kanye did not like the fact that she said “divorce” instead of “filed” nor how he was a “rapper” because he was “so much more than that.”
But that did not stop Kim from saying it. Her monologue on the SNL was, “When I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”
She recalled, “I came prepared with my monologue, and that really upset him. I showed him the monologue, but he says he never read it like he just didn’t read the text.”
“Kanye had a hard time with what I said.”
Back then, at the interview, the man spoke, “SNL making my wife say ‘I divorced him’ on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off and I ain’t never seen the papers. We’re not even divorced.”
Kourtney asked Kim what made the man wait before signing the divorce papers, and Kim replied to her, “I don’t know. I ask him all the time.”
“He says he will, and then he says, ‘Well, I don’t want a divorce, so I’m not gonna sign ’em,” she continued.
Kim also added that she’s holding back a lot from feeling protective over her ex-husband, withholding “a lot of the negative things that have happened.”
She shared her raw feelings, “Also, if I do something on a reality show, then it’s like, ‘How dare she talk about it,’ and then he can do a song about it and, ‘That’s so creative and expressive.’ It’s always two different sides are being expressed two different ways, and one is respected, and one is not.”
“I’m very sure now. I knew it had to be done when I filed because I knew it just wasn’t the right situation for me, and now I feel super good.”
Kourtney reacted to her, “I think you’re like, Who am I now?” to which Kim agreed.
“I got to a point where I would just like ask him for advice for everything, even down to what I wear. Even now, I’m having like panic attacks like, ‘What do I wear?'”
She also revealed that he was also responsible for the wardrobe choice on many red carpet occasions and “styled me all for SNL, then at the Wall Street Journal Magazine, I won the Innovator Award for SKIMS.”
She recalled feeling “so nervous” about her first red carpet without him. And when she made her appearance at the Wall Street Journal Awards, Kanye called her to diss her on her dress.
“He told me my career is over, and he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar,” recalled Kim.
The episode saw Kim celebrating her birthday amidst her intense studying for the bar exam, however.
The whole family made a surprise birthday party for Kim, who didn’t plan to celebrate this year for the bar exam. Khloe cheerfully added, “I am so happy that Kim is able to take a break from studying, and now she gets to be surrounded by all her besties.”
