Jollibee Customer Served Battered Fried Towel Instead Of Chicken

Jollibee is a fast-food chain in the Philippines. It’s widely known for its fried chicken, but then, Alique Perez, via a Facebook Post, claims the restaurant served her something quite disturbing instead. Specifically, Perez, who ordered a takeaway through their food delivery service app for her son, got a battered and fried towel instead of Jollibee’s Chickenjoy. 

Alique Perez received a shock when she got served a “deep-fried towel” instead of a chicken.

According to her Facebook post, the incident is alarming.

“Just something that frustrated me this late. We had Jollibee delivered via grab. I ordered chicken for my son; while I was trying to get him a bite, I found it super hard even to slice.” Perez wrote in her lengthy post. She pointed out that she had thought posts complaining about weird stuff in their orders were all made up, but now she sees that it really happens. 

The fried-chicken was in particular ordered for her son.

“How the hell do you get the towel in the batter and even fry it?!” Perez added. She further shared her concerns over how other customers could be affected by the mistake. “The essence of the towel contaminated the oil and the batter from the supplier, so how many chickenjoys are affected? We won’t know.” The mom’s post included a clip and a screenshot of the amount of the order, showing ₱462.60, an equivalent of $9.69.

So far, Perez’s post has garnered over 100K reactions and has been shared to other online platforms. On the other hand, Jollibee has released a statement in response, apologizing for the error. The company said they’re deeply concerned and have conducted a thorough investigation of the incident. It turned out; the fast-food giant will also temporarily shut down the branch situated at Bonifacio Global City.
