Jennifer Garner Reveals She ‘Works Really Hard’ To Not Read Stories About Ben Affleck
Garner insisted it doesn’t make her feel good, even if it’s something nice.
The pair have stayed friends as they co-parent their children, but Jennifer Garner prefers not to see their lives played out online. The 50-year-old shares her kids Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Sam, 11, with ex-husband, Ben Affleck. And while Ben has since moved on, tying the knot with singer Jennifer Lopez in 2022, Garner, often described as a private star, has also been in a relationship with her businessman boyfriend, John Miller.
Speaking with Stellar Magazine, the actress insisted she tries her best not to read any media coverage about herself or her ex-husband Ben Affleck.
The 13 Going on 30 star, who tied the knot with Affleck from 2005 until 2018, shared: “I really work hard not to see either of us in the press. It doesn’t make me feel good, even if it’s something nice about one of us. I just try to forget that I’m out there in any way and the same with anyone I love. I don’t need to see anyone in my family made into a meme.”
Both Affleck and Lopez, 53, rekindled their romance 20 years after they were originally engaged.
The pair, more fondly known as Bennifer, specifically reignited their romance in May 2021 and tied the knot the following summer.
The couple met on the set of the 2001 box office flop Gigli and got engaged the following year. Their planned nuptials in 2003 was equally postponed due to huge media attention, and as a result, both Affleck and Lopez stayed together for just a few more months before confirming their split in a statement in early 2004. They soon entered other relationships, with Lopez marrying her now ex-husband Marc Anthony and then getting engaged to former MLB player Alex Rodriguez.
When asked if she had seen any of the memes of her ex doing the rounds online, Jennifer told the magazine that she hadn’t but joked: “Although, I’m sure he’s quite meme-worthy, yes!”
