Internet Users Slam ‘Wasteful’ Panic Buyers Who Are Throwing Away Food
The foods should have been wheeled around to the needy!
Stockpilers are throwing away good food items after hoarding more than they can eat as a result of COVID-19 panic buying.
Photos of bins stacked high with bread, fruit, and food were recently uploaded to different social media platforms as the death toll of British COVID-19 rose by 180 in just 24hrs, reaching total deaths of 1,408.
Over the weekend, bunches of bananas, unopened boxes of chicken products and loaves of bread were kept aside after they went past their use-by date.

Unopened cans of food and packets of pasta were seen filling a black bin in Bury, Greater Manchester. A Photo of the bin shared with Twitter users has, however, prompted internet users to slam the panic buyers as wasteful.
Fear over the killer bug has caused Britons to rush to supermarkets to stock up on easy, long-lasting food over the last few weeks. Strict lockout rules have been enforced since then, instructing Britons to leave the house only once a day, and shop only for necessities.

Supermarkets provide prioritized time slots for home delivery to older consumers and cut back on how many shoppers are required to be in the store at the same time.
Donna Ball, Bury council’s executive director of operations, in particular, shared a photo of a full bin on social media, which sparked outrage.

‘If you are thrashing good food into a bin that could support your food banks then give that your head a bloody wobble. Binmen seeing good food dumped into black bins daily. This has a bag of pasta underneath.’ Donna wrote.
Reacting, Maggie Kufeldt said: ‘My goodness! Who are these people?’
‘Ok, why would anyone throw away an unopened box of food. Here’s over half a dozen.’ Col Barlow queried.
A third – John Currie added: ‘WTF is wrong with individuals in this country.’
Nevertheless, the COVID-19 outbreak in the United Kingdom might finally be starting to slow after the everyday death toll plunged for the 2nd day in a row, with about 180 new medical equipment recorded overnight.
