‘I’m A Stay-At-Home Mum – I Have Rules For My Kids That You Will Probably Disagree With’
“I parent different than most and I can’t expect another parent to respect that.”
Stay-at-home mom Victoria Yavnyi gets a lot of criticism when she shares her parenting that many consider “modern.” The TikTok mom with over 155k followers shares several rules she has for her children, which include no sleepovers.

On the other end of the spectrum, Victoria says her children can stay up “as long as” they want as long as they can be responsible enough to wake up in the morning.

The video went viral with over 116k views now as she drops her parenting rules which many find peculiar. She captioned her video with “Rules I have for my kids that you will probably disagree with.”
Victoria makes her kids brush their teeth before breakfast every morning, and this contradicts a lot of people’s opinions. Many say it’s the “wrong way around,” but that’s just the first!
The kids are not allowed sleepovers!

When asked about it, Victoria explains her reason, “I don’t feel comfortable letting my girls ever stay under someone else’s roof overnight. I also parent different than most, and I can’t expect another parent to respect that.
But it doesn’t mean she’s entirely against the idea of letting her kids spend the night with her friends if they’re coming over! Victoria adds, “If another parent trusts me with their children, I would gladly have sleepovers at my house.”
Another rule was never forcing her kids to finish everything and putting them aside for when they’re hungry later.

And as she’s expected, viewers were split when it came to her unusual rules. One wrote, “Disagree with sleepovers, literally my best childhood memories.”
Another added, “They make sense to me except the brushing teeth. I usually brush after, but everyone does stuff differently.”
A mom shared, “I agree with them all apart from the sleepovers. My son loves having friends over and going to friends too. We are in the UK, though, so I don’t know if it’s different.”
Victoria’s parenting videos have often garnered comments from people who disagree with her style, such as feeding her baby formula.

Due to post-partum depression and not being able to produce milk herself, Victoria had to switch to formula early on and was always sharing and normalizing it through her platform.
Will you let your kids go on sleepovers? Can you get behind Victoria’s rules?
