‘Hollywood’s Bald Blonde’ Jannica Olin Speaks Up About Chris Rock’s Joke
“I think that’s cool.”
Swedish actress Jannica Olin speaks up about the Oscars slap that happened over a joke made by Chris Rock about Jada’s missing hair. The “Hollywood’s Bald Blonde” had the opposite reaction to the couple and shared it with THR.
She also stars in the show titled ‘(IM)PERFEKT’, which was based on her own experience living with alopecia.
Olin recounted that during the six months she watched all her hair fall, she “tried everything to keep it from falling out, and nothing worked”. Like Jada, it was a “traumatic experience.” But it wasn’t enough for her to agree with Will Smith’s action at the event.
The celebrity related to the joke, “I didn’t see what was offensive about it — in my eyes.”
“To me, personally, that ‘G.I. Jane’ joke was not offensive. I think that’s cool,” she added. “That’s a character that’s representing someone who’s a rebel and who’s a strong, independent woman.
“I would have loved to have that said to me,” said the Tedx speaker. In addition, she didn’t condone Smith’s reaction to being triggered by the joke. The actress said, “We’re all human. We’re all going to get triggered by things. But you have to be an adult and sit with something and maybe not react that way, no matter what.”
