Girl, 18, Who Didn’t Know She Was Pregnant Gives Birth While In A Coma
No bump, didn’t miss her period, and experienced no morning sickness.
Ebony Stevenson had no idea she was pregnant. The British teenager went to bed feeling sick, suffered a series of seizures, and was eventually rushed to the hospital, where she was placed in an induced coma. Waking up days later, Ebony found she had given birth to a baby girl.

The college student studying Sports Physiotherapy hadn’t developed a bump nor experienced morning sickness and didn’t even miss her period. She had no idea she was expecting as her unborn baby had actually hidden in one of two uteruses, a condition called Uterus didelphys.
She had no prior symptoms that she was pregnant and was even suffering from preeclampsia.
The condition, believed to affect one in 3000 women, means those affected are born with two uterus. And in Ebony’s case, only one of them had a fallopian tube to carry an egg while the other had none, meaning her chances of conception were slim. However, getting her head around the news, she’s now enjoying bonding with her daughter named Elodie.
Ebony, who was also diagnosed with uterus didelphys gave birth to baby Elodievia emergency C-section.
“Meeting my baby was so surreal. It felt like an out-of-the-body experience. I worried I wouldn’t bond with my daughter because I had not time to get my head around her arrival, but I think she’s amazing,” Ebony, according to New York Post, explained. Medics had performed tests and discovered she had suffered Preeclampsia, which had caused the seizures.
The teen plans to return to college this February, and “wouldn’t change Elodie for the world.”
Ebony underwent an emergency C-section and gave birth to a baby girl, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces. She added: “I didn’t think I even wanted kids, at least not for another 10years, and never expected to be a young mum. Waking up from a coma to be told I had been pregnant and had given birth to a baby was overwhelming; to say the least, it’s an absolute miracle. I wouldn’t change Elodie for the world.”
