Elon Musk’s College Ex-Girlfriend Auctions Off Unseen Pics, Some Going For Over $10K

Jennifer Gwynne is auctioning off her trove of photos and mementos from when she dated the billionaire Elon Musk. The pair were romantically linked when they both attended the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. Of the never-seen-before items from the auctions is a birthday card Musk gave Gwynne in December 1995.

The card, which reads: “Happy birthday Jennifer (aka Boo Boo), Love, Elon,” is to sell more than $10,000 when the bidding ends Wednesday. 

Another popular item put up by Musk’s Ivy League sweetheart, as per Page Six, is a dollar bill signed by Elon Musk. As of early Monday morning, the bill has a top bid of $7,604, while a photograph of Musk sitting at the computer has garnered 26 bids, with the highest bidder willing to pay over $1,355. 

Gwynne told DailyMail the term ‘Boo Boo’ was what Elon Musk called her when teasing her playfully.

One photo in the Gwynne collection being put on the block by Boston-based RR Auction showed Musk wearing a Judge Dredd T-shirt [pictured above], which pays homage to the comic book character that inspired the movie starring Sylvester Stallone. In another, a smiling Musk is seen lying on the floor with his hands behind his head and looking into the camera.

The pair started dating at the Philadelphia-based Ivy League school in the fall of 1994. They both lived in the same dormitory as resident advisers. In most of their photos, Musk, then 23-Year-Old, could be seen being playful, affectionate, serious, and, importantly, tech-savvy. Musk is equally seen sightseeing at Niagara Falls and hiking in San Francisco.

Gwynne told DailyMail that Musk was ambitious and idealistic, and she always knew he would go places. She added: “He was very intense, very focused on his studies. Back then, he always talked about electric cars. He was definitely going somewhere. He just saw school as a stepping stone.” Of their relationship, she attested it was sweet, but Musk often withholds public displays of affection. 

Gwynne is also auctioning off a 14-karat gold necklace that Musk bought her while they visited his mom in Toronto. 

She continued: “His shy nature attracted me at first. We were physical when we needed to be, but there wasn’t any hand-holding or anything like that. He liked to be together. He just liked having someone there with him, someone to support him.” The affair ended when Musk moved to Pala Alto, Calif. Gwynne said she visited him once out West, but they decided to call it to quit. 

“If we weren’t physically together, it was a problem because he’s not good on the phone. He said it’s a waste of time. It was hard; it was not what a 20-year-old woman wanted to hear. I was totally in love with him.” However, 48-Year-Old Gwynne is selling off the photos and mementos to help fund her stepson’s college tuition.
