‘You’re inspiring loads of other women and young girls’
Duchess Kate Middleton celebrated International Women’s Day with an ambitious young woman – Jasmine Harrison, the amazing world record holder who became the youngest woman to row solo across the Atlantic.
Kate’s appearance is just one day after her brother-in-law Prince Harry and Sister-in-law Meghan Markle had a tell-it-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Meghan had claimed Kate made her cry days before she married Prince Harry and had experienced more negativity than the Duchess of Cambridge because of her race.

At the start of the interview, Jasmine told the mom-of-three who donned an £80 baby pink pussybow blouse from British brand Boden about how she would never have even known about the race if she hadn’t been at the right moment to hear about it and that it has made her wonder ‘what else is there.’

‘I don’t know, I have been so closed off to this world of possibilities, just because it has never been advertised that a young woman would maybe ever want to do.’ Jasmine, a North Yorkshire native, said. The Duchess could be seen beaming through the clip, sweeping her hair back into a half-up to show her pair of pink dropping earrings. During the call, Jasmine expressed hope her efforts would shift perception for ‘people that think something can’t be done and it can be.’

She added: ‘I would like to change male perspectives on females. It’s not about women believing they can do something because we can; we kind of know that (we can) already. To be in the peace of the ocean for so many days, you get to appreciate the world we live in in a way we can’t when life is busy.’

Kate responded to Jasmine: ‘You’re inspiring loads of other women and young girls to follow in your footsteps. Your achievement has made massive progress in helping to change perception, so if nothing else, it’s given a huge door opener to so many other young women with that idea (that) with determination, bravery, and confidence so much is achievable, so a huge well done.’
In a interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan revealed Kate had made a cry at a bridesmaid fitting but then apologized and bought her flowers.
In the end, Kate wished Jasmine well for a safe flight back and even drew a laugh when she said she hoped ‘you enjoy seeing your doggies back in Yorkshire.’ Nonetheless, in the interview with Winfrey, Meghan, 39, spoke of her relationship with Kate. Meghan revealed she had made a cry at a bridesmaid fitting but then apologized and bought her flowers. Several reports of the feud between the duchesses first emerged in November 2018 when sources revealed Meghan had been left displeased with the stressful fitting.
