Demi Lovato Admits ‘There Might Be A Time Where I Identify As Trans’
“It’s about keeping it open and free, and just I’m a very fluid person.”
As Demi Lovato celebrates their 29th birthday, the singer took some time to reflect on their gender journey. Speaking at the 19th Represents Summit, Lovato commented on their gender expression and revealed that there might be a time where they will identify as Trans, including a time where they will identify as non-binary and gender nonconforming.

The Heart Attack Singer had identified as gender nonbinary in May 2020. “Being nonbinary, what that means is that I’m so much more than the binary of man and woman. And that we are all so much if we allow ourselves the ability to look within ourselves and challenge that binary that we’ve grown up living in.” Lovato had said on Instagram.
“There might be a time where I identify as trans. There might be a time where I identify as nonbinary and gender nonconforming my entire life.”
During the Summit, they shared the fears they felt when they came out as they/them. Lovato added: “I was very nervous in the beginning to come out as nonbinary because I didn’t want people to think it was inauthentic. I just wanted people to see what coming out as nonbinary meant to my healing process. They also shared thoughts on where they might be headed in the future regarding gender expression and identity.
“It’s about keeping it open and free, and I’m a very fluid person, and so that goes with how I express myself as well.” They said while talking at the 19th Represents.
The singer, who first identified as gender nonbinary in May, had explained: ‘Being nonbinary is much more than the binary of man and woman.’
“There might be a time where I identify as Trans. There might be a time where I identify as nonbinary and gender nonconforming my entire life. Or maybe there’s a time when I get older that I identify as a woman. I have a feeling that it’s not going to ever go back to one way or the other. But I just, it’s about keeping it open and free, and just I’m a very fluid person and so that goes with how I express myself as well.” Lovato concluded.

However, the Confident Hitmaker was recently a guest on the Netflix reality show titled “Cooking with Paris,” featuring Paris Hilton. During the program, the pair tried their hands at making what looked to be colorful cannolis. Taking to Instagram, Lovato shared a clip from the show with a caption that read: “Thank you for having @parishilton. I had SO much fun cooking with you, and I can’t for many more nights like this!”
