David Beckham Waited In Line With The Public For Over 12 Hours To View The Queen’s Coffin

Beckham joined thousands of well-wishers to say a final Farwell to the Queen.

Apart from expressing condolence to the Royal Family, English Soccer Legend David Beckham has gone an extra mile to show his love for the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died last Thursday, by waiting in line with the general public for hours to visit her coffin.

Beckham hit the headlines for waiting over 12 hours to visit the Queen’s coffin in honor of his grandparents.

“So this day was always going to be difficult and it’s difficult for the nation, it’s difficult for everyone around the world, because I think everyone is feeling it, and our thoughts are with the family and obviously with everybody here today,” he said, as per Sky News told reporters.

Bystanders told the news outlet they had seen the soccer star since early that morning on Friday, around 2 o’clock.

Beckham added: “Because it’s special to be here, to celebrate and to hear the different stories that people have to say. The most special moment for me was to receive my OBE. I took my grandparents with me, who were the ones that brought me up to be a huge royalist and a fan of the Royal Family, and obviously, I had my wife there as well.”

The 47-Year-Old soccer pro was spotted dressed in a suit and hat as he queued in line.

He further reflected, as per ITV News“To step up, to get my honor, but then also Her Majesty, to ask questions, to talk, I was so lucky that I was able to have a few moments like that in my life, to be around Her Majesty. Because we can all see with the love that has been shown, how special she is and how special she was and the legacy she leaves behind.”

Beckham added: “It’s a sad day, but it’s a day for us to remember the incredible legacy that she’s left.”

After waiting for over 12 hours, the soccer star, while paying tribute to the Queen at Westminster Hall, appeared emotional as he removed his cap and could be seen wiping tears from his eyes. Her Majesty no doubt left an untouchable legacy in the hearts of millions of Royalists who loved her. And of Beckham’s gesture, people have since praised him for waiting in line with the public.

“He is a credit to our nation and his Queen,” @TonyParsonsUk wrote of the soccer legend.
