Cow Gave Birth To Baby Calf During A Farmer Couple’s Wedding Reception Of 100 Guests

The wedding tale of Portland dairy farmer Jessa Laws, 32, and her husband Ben, 38, over the weekend has indeed made the headlines. The couple had initially rescheduled their wedding due to the pandemic lockdown and hesitantly rebooked for April, despite knowing that their cows would be calving.  

A pregnant cow named Fleyas Drama gave birth to a baby calf during Jess and Ben’s reception.

On April 24th, the couple eventually got married on their farm in Gorae near Portland, Victoria. But it turned out, one of their cows named Fleyas Jacot Drama was overdue on the same day, leaving Jessa no choice but to intervene. As expected, Jessa’s $1200 dress got ruined yet deemed to be minor compared to the excitement of the newborn calf.

“We were expecting the birth as she was a few days overdue, and a few of our farmer guests helped keep an eye on her throughout the day,” Jessica told Daily Mail Australia. She added: “Earlier, we joked and said she’s going to give birth on our wedding day. On the night, a friend came and told me two feet are showing.” About seven dairy farmers assisted in delivering the calf and ensured everything was fine.

 The new addition has been named Destiny, and Jessa claims the cows are the foundation of her and Ben’s relationship, having first met in a pub three years ago talking about cows. However, the new bride hopes the dry cleaners will return her wedding dress to the original shape, but she isn’t too bothered.
