CEO Darren Street Gave A Full Brief:

‘We always contact the candidate 24hours before their due date for an interview and also on the morning of their interview. It ensures us they are going to attend. Needless to say, this particular candidate didn’t, however, take my call the day before and on the morning of the interview he didn’t take my call and ignored my text messages.’

‘But then, out of nowhere, he sent me a text message saying sorry I have not been in contact. I have had some devastating news my grandma passed away suddenly yesterday, hence I have not been able to take your calls nor respond up until now.’

‘Immediately, I text back saying ‘No need to explain, I sincerely understand your circumstances. So, I decided to send a sympathy card to the candidate.’

Not long after, it appeared the job seeker had a go at Darren, 45, Boss of spear recruitment Ltd as the job seeker wife saw the card exposing his dishonesty.

Mr. Darren then again shared their text exchange:

‘Can I ask you why you sent a sympathy card to my home?’ The job seeker asked.

Then Mr. Darren responded: ‘You told me that your grandma had passed away hence you could not attend the interview….’
