Billie Eilish gave her image a complete overhaul in the newest Vogue cover feature. She shared several pictures from the photoshoot session, and, holy moly, she looks so dang gorgeous. She teased us about it, and she really delivered that surprise!
The ‘Too Young To Die’ singer traded her ombre hair and baggy clothes for 80’s wavy shoulder-length hairstyle and a corset!
She shared her new blonde hair on March 17, captioning it with, “Pinch me.”
She got that corset and skirt customized by Gucci, the bra from Agent Provocateur, and the latex gloves from Atsuko Kudo Latex.
What is even more impressive is that this theme is Billie’s own idea! Billie Eilish, as we’ve never seen her before:
Vogue shared, “Billie collaborated closely with the Vogue team on her fashion fantasy, led by style director Dena Giannini.”
Inspired by Betty Brosmer, the 19-year-old singer had chosen this “classic, old-timey pin-up” theme. But she admits that it was a new experience she was nervous about as she has “literally never done anything in this realm at all.”
Despite the conflict that may arise from the corsets, Billie expressed how she’s intrigued by their beauty and original function.
She admits, “If I’m honest with you, I hate my stomach, and that’s why.” But that was a nod to her sharing about her “deepest insecurity,” which is her body, a theme that is also in her new single. She even guessed what people would say: “‘If you’re about body positivity, why would you wear a corset? Why wouldn’t you show your actual body?’”
“My thing is that I can do whatever I want.”
She redefines what body positivity should mean for people, “It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f**k it – if you feel like you look good, you look good.”
