Billie Eilish Is A True Gilded Glamour In Gucci Corset At The Met Gala 2022
She understood the assignment.
Billie Eilish’s outfit seemed to be one of the unique few that followed the theme of ‘glided glamour,’ which hacked back to fashions popular in the late 1800s. The singer made a memorable entrance, donning a Glided Age-themed gown designed by Gucci.
The ‘Happier Than Ever’ singer went for it with a champagne-colored corseted gown, lace sleeves, and floral detail at the bust.
This appearance followed the 2021 tribute to Marilyn Monroe when Eilish, who co-chaired the 2021 Gala with Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Gorman, wore a gorgeous peach Oscar de la Renta gown inspired by old Hollywood glamour. This year’s dress code is Glided Glamour, and indeed Eilish understood the assignment.
Notably, the bad guy singer put a gothic twist on the look with her messy black hair in an updo, sporting a black choker around her neck and diamond rings.
She didn’t also forget to put on a busty display at the evening event held in Manhattan.
“We didn’t have to waste a bunch of stuff. I just wanted to be kind of like as eco-friendly as possible. I’m in a good place. I just want to have fun and talk and socialize,” Eilish told La La Anthony on Vogue’s live stream of the event and added she was less nervous this year. For the 2021 Met Gala, Eilish had emulated Monroe’s dress at the 1951 Oscars.
As she prepared behind the red carpet, Eilish had told Vogue that big dresses were her favorite when she was a kid & that it’s body image that tore the sh*t down.
