Amber Heard Spotted In Spain As She Hires Yet Another Lawyer To Help Tackle Massive $15m Legal Bill
Amber Heard just hired another lawyer to get insurance companies to cover her legal bills.
Amber Heard seems to have taken her mind off her legal battles as she’s spotted for the first time since her defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp vacationing in Spain. It comes as the actress had this week changed lawyers in her attempt to force two insurance firms to pick up the multimillion-dollar for her libel payout.
Photos from the getaway show the blonde looking relaxed in a tight black tank top with thin straps tucked into a pair of loose-fit black pants and flip-flops.
Heard’s hair was unkempt, thrown back, and she wore no makeup. The 36-Year-Old wasn’t alone. Her baby and a small group of people were seen enjoying the sights in Palma de Mallorca, a beautiful resort city on the Mediterranean. Next, the mom-daughter rode on a swing set at a local park.
Despite the massive amounts of money she was ordered to pay Depp in damages, Amber appears relatively unbothered, having a relaxing vacation.
The life of the Rum Diaries star has been in upheaval following two publicized trials over her alleged domestic abuse at the hands of Johnny Depp. One had held in the United Kingdom and the other in the United States. She was ordered to pay the Pirates of the Caribbean actor over $10million in damages at the end of the defamation trial in June.
Currently, Heard is represented by David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown in her appeal of a verdict.
Puck News reports that the actress also recently hired Kirk Pasich on her legal team to get the insurance companies to cover her legal bills, which might surpass $15million. Attorney Pasich claims Heard’s expenses soared over $8million before the Virginia trial started. Notably, the battle is focused on the Travelers Commercial Insurance Company and New York Marine General Insurance Company.
Travelers had sued New York Marine in 2021 to gain reimbursement for half of what it spent defending a client that turned out to be Heard.
The actress’ homeowners’ policy with Travelers covered libel to about $500K, while New York Marine issued her a general liability policy for $1million. However, both insurers are now suing Heard to avoid contributing to the libel settlement that has her paying Depp about $10.35million using a California law that prevents insurers from covering willful acts.
