Amber Heard Sobbed On The Stand Telling Court How Johnny Upended Her Life
“Every single day I live this trauma.”
Amber Heard cried in court during her testimony as she shared how she’s been facing negativity on a daily basis, blaming Johnny Depp for waging a “smear campaign” on her. She also threw a shade on Kate Moss, who “came out of the woodwork” to testify for her ex-husband.
She told the court, “I am harassed, humiliated, threatened every single day. Even just walking into this courtroom, sitting here in front of the world, having the worst parts of my life used to humiliate me.”
“People want to kill me, and they tell me so every day. People want to put my baby in the microwave, and they tell me that.”
The mom-of-one who is raising a baby girl that she got through a surrogate mother after she was told by the doctor that she would never be able to carry a child to term. The girl has made it to her social media page several times as she gushed over her.
She told the court, “Johnny threatened, promised me that if I ever left him, he’d make me think of him every single day I lived.”
Heard’s daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard, had just turned one year old more than a month ago before the trial began.
“I’m not sitting in this courtroom snickering. I’m not sitting in this courtroom laughing and making snide jokes,” she continued, referring to the several moments Depp made jokes with his defense team and the snides he made while making his stance.
“This is horrible, this painful, and this is humiliating for any human being to go through. Perhaps it’s easy to go forget that I’m a human being. I don’t deserve this. The attacks on me, the campaign that Johnny has elicited millions of people to do on his behalf, torture me.”
“In the harassment, the humiliation, the campaign against me that’s echoed every single day on social media and now in cameras in this room. Every single day I live this trauma.”
“My hands shake, I wake up screaming… my friends have to live with a set of unspoken rules about how not to scare me, how to not touch me, not surprise me. Intimate partners have rules about how they can touch me. I have rules about medical professionals… gynecologists I see.”
“For me not to have a panic attack or triggering event, where I relive the trauma, even if I’m training for a movie, Aquaman 2. A trigger happens, and I have a meltdown; I have to deal with that because of the damage I have.”
She continued, “I woke up every day with panic attacks until I realized I could do something about it. I’m not a saint, I’m not trying to present myself as one, but I selfishly found relief in using what I live through to give a voice to people who don’t have a voice.”
“I would not wish this situation on my worst enemy. As I stand here today, I can’t have a career, I can’t have people associate with me, and I can’t do charity work.”
“People mocking my testimony about being assaulted. Making fun of…it’s been agonizing, painful, and was humiliating thing I’ve ever had to go through. I hope no one has to go through something like this.”
“I just want Johnny to leave me alone. I’ve said that for years now, and I thought he would.”
“Johnny has taken enough of my voice. I have the right to tell my story, my voice, and my name. He took it long enough. I have a right as an American to talk about what happened to me, to own my story and my truth. I have that right. I hope to get my voice back, and I’ve said that from day one.”
A social media picture of Depp one day before he and Heard were aboard the Orient Express in July 2015 has also been shown.
Depp was shown with a mark below his left eye, believed to be the injury caused by Heard. Yet, the picture was taken before the trip, as Depp claimed he was hit during the trip. Rotternborn rebutted his claim that a “sidelight” would’ve created the dark mark effect and showed the picture.
“Whatever mark it is, sunburn, shadow, you had that same mark before you got on the train,” Heard’s lawyer told him. He snapped back, “It’s pretty difficult to get a sunburn on the train.”
In another picture taken during their honeymoon aboard the cruise, where Heard appeared unscathed, but under the dim lighting, there seemed to be a mark under his eye.
When shown another picture off Facebook, Depp commented, “That looks like the eyes have been photoshopped.”
Heard claimed that Depp repeatedly abused her physically while they were on the train, but Depp’s account was different. He told the court, “There were times when it was very agreeable, very nice, and then there were times when something had become dissatisfactory for her, and she would start then rant, the blooming of a fight would be on deck there.”
“At one point – I don’t remember it lasting long – I took a pretty good shot to the face, to the eye, to somewhere up here. I had a bit of a shiner, but it all went, ended, and everything got fine again, and we’d go to dinner, and it was all fine.”
“These things could happen very quickly if you disagreed. I don’t look like myself much, but it certainly looks like me with a black eye.”
When inquired about the possibility of the picture being edited as Heard claimed, Depp answered, “It would be difficult to start getting into digital processing with a number of people on the shot.”
