Amber Heard Says Johnny Depp Believed She Slept With Eddie Redmayne & Director Tom Hopper While Filming Danish Girl
She portrayed Ulla Paulson in the film.
As Amber Heard continues her counter-argument to Depp’s defamation claim, the actress revealed the Pirates of the Caribbean star was convinced she had slept with co-star Eddie Redmayne and director Tom Hopper while filming the Oscar-winning film, The Danish Girl.
Heard disagreed as she testified she didn’t have an affair with either man. She then shared Depp had called her at her London hotel while filming the film and became angry when she didn’t immediately answer.
“We get into an argument. He was accusing me of [sleeping with] Eddie Redmayne. He thought I was working with Billy Bob Thornton, but I’d already worked with him a year earlier. He was very upset about him.” Heard added Depp accused her of sleeping with Thornton on several occasions while filming London Fields, released in 2018. But both parties, including Thornton, have denied it.
Heard, 36, in The Danish Girl portrayed Ulla Paulson.
Heard continued: “I got that sense he thought I was sleeping with the director, and then it was with the actor I was filming with.” After the movie’s release, Redmayne [pictured below] won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance. Also, Heard broke down in tears on the stand as she recalled how Depp s*xually assaulted her with a liquor bottle.
She said of the incident: “I didn’t know if the bottle he had inside me was broken. I couldn’t feel it. I couldn’t feel anything.”
The fight occurred in March 2015 when the then-married couple was staying in Australia, where Depp filmed the 5th installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The two got into an argument about drinking, and Depp allegedly taunted Heard with a bottle of booze he was holding, which the actress clarified dropped to the floor and broke after she went to grab it.
Heard also testified through tears about Depp ripping up her nightgown and punching the wall next to her.
“I was naked, slipping around on this tile on the floor. He’s screaming at me and saying I ruined his life. I f**ing hate you. You ruined my f**ing life. I’m looking into his eyes; I don’t see him anymore. It wasn’t him. It was black. I’ve never been so scared in my life. I was trying to get through to Johnny, and I couldn’t see him at all,” She said of an incident on a countertop.
In between the testimony, Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft asked her to clarify if Depp penetrated her v**ina with a liquor bottle to her public bone.
She replied: “I remember I was bent over backward on the bar; I was staring at the blue light. My back was on the countertop. I thought he was punching me. I felt this pressure on my pubic bone, and I could feel his arms moving. It looked like he was punching me. I could just feel this pressure. I don’t remember what I said; I just remember being really still, not wanting to move.
“I remember looking around the room, looking at all the broken bottles, broken glass and I remember not wanting to move because I didn’t know if it was broken, I didn’t know if the bottle that he had inside me was broken.”
“I couldn’t feel it; I didn’t feel pain, I didn’t feel anything. I saw so much broken glass I didn’t know if he would know if it was broken or not, and I remember thinking, please go. I hope it’s not broken. I don’t know how that ended. I don’t know how I got off the countertop.”
“I just remember being in the bathroom. I remember retching, the sound my voice was making. I lost control of my bladder. I remember just retching; there was blood on the floor.” This harrowing incident was the same fight that left Depp with a severed finger. Depp had claimed that Heard flung a vodka bottle at him. At this time, the pair had only been married for just a month.
Photos from inside the scattered mansion the couple rented were shown in the court, the same place Ben King, the house manager, had testified about finding Depp’s missing fingertip.
One of the images was of two liquor bottles, and Heard told the court she recognized one from the fight.
Heard further testified she took pills to fall asleep only to wake up to her then-husband injured after the alleged attack. She said Depp wrote many messages with the blood spewing from his severed finger that it looked like he had run out of blood. She added: “He wrote on the back of a pillow with blood,” along with mirrors, walls, and even a lampshade.
So far, Heard has painted Depp as a vindictive partner who would take drugs and alcohol and become violent.
But the actor’s defense team has since labeled her testimony as a “performance of her life.”
Elsewhere, Heard claimed Depp head-butted her and beat her so badly she thought she would die. She added the actor had also dragged her by the hair into a neighboring apartment, leaving chunks of her hair lying all over the floor. “I thought this is how I die; he’s going to kill me now. He’s going to kill me, and he won’t even have realized it. I couldn’t breathe.“
