Acacia Kersey, One Of The Most Hated Influencers Is Quitting The Internet

Acacia Kersey’s decision is quite huge, especially as she has ever lived her life online. The controversial influencer announced she’s quitting influencing and indefinitely stepping away from social media in an Instagram post. The 23-year-old admitted she’s done monetizing her life and that after months of deep thoughts, the “time to move on” was decided.
Acacia Kersey shared a lengthy post, which featured she would be leaving social media “indefinitely.”
“This role has done an immense amount of damage to me, my relationships, my financial stability, and my view of the world. Fear has been keeping me here for longer than I can even admit. Fear of what would happen if I stopped bringing in money, fear of what I could even offer the world, fear of who I am without this because it’s all I’ve ever known,” Acacia wrote.
“This decision was one of the hardest while simultaneously being the easiest.”
She added: “This decision was one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make while simultaneously being the easiest and most freeing things I’ve ever done since it meant a better life for myself and my family.” Acacia concluded that possibly one day, she’ll make her way back but wouldn’t rely on social media for her family’s survival as it created much unhealthy pressure and privilege.
Acacia added that while maybe one day she will return, she won’t rely on social media for her family’s “survival.
Remarkably, her family is familiar with fame. While she had appeared in a few bands and had a few acting roles over the years, Acacia’s older brother Peyton Clark had appeared on the Disney Channel. When in 7th grade, Acacia had launched a Tumblr account and soon became popular on the platform.

And according to her older version, social media had created too much unhealthy pressure and privilege.
Her popularity originated from establishing relationships with famous boys on Tumblr, posting photos of herself with varying levels of sex appeal, and even getting involved in drama on the platform. Most criticisms of her appear to be rooted in general bad vibes, sexism, and drama.
Multiple reasons led to the decision, including “an immense amount of damage to herself”
For example, an entry on Urban Dictionary described Acacia as an ex-Tumblr girl infamous for getting into relationships incredibly quickly with guys a lot older than herself, abusing pets, and faking self-harm. Leveraging on her Tumblr fame, Acacia found success on other platforms, including Instagram. And as she got older, her content changed.
However, the 23-year-old who took a break from Instagram weeks ago is working on being a good mom.
In 2015, she started dating Jairus Kersey, a singer in the rock band Alive Like. Acacia documented their romance on her YouTube channel, featuring how they moved in together right before she turned 18. However, the pair had their first child, Brinley, in 2017, and shortly after they got married in 2018, they had their second, Rosemary. In 2020, the pair welcomed a third named Cali.
