‘Obi-Wan’ Series Script Is Being Reworked, Putting The Show For Disney+ On Indefinite Hold

It’s not cancelled. Hopefully, it won’t.

Crews that have assembled in Pinewood Studios in London have been sent home. Rumors emerged saying the series has been cancelled by McGregor’s reps, but it was soon revised to ‘on hold to time indefinite’. This is bad, coming after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ has not received the best response.

Nothing is sure about this show now as there are also reports of creative differences happening within. Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy are not happy with the scripts and request for it to be reworked.

The series is to focus on Ewan McGregor’s character, Obi-Wan Kenobi and is a prequel after ‘Revenge of the Sith’. Hossein Amini is writing the script while Deborah Chow who directed ‘The Mandalorian’ will direct this show as well.

Apparently, THR has confirmed that Lucasfilm is in search of a new writer for the scripts. It also won’t have 6, but only 4 episodes and a source mentioned that the script had a similar plot to ‘The Mandalorian’ with the Jedi master guiding and protecting young Luke and possibly Leia as well.

On the other hand, fans can cheer for ‘The Mandalorian’ has received a great reception and is already slated for a second season.
