Prince George Told His Classmates “My Father Will Be King So You Better Watch Out”
George and his siblings are raised with a sense of duty.
Prince George seems to understand he will one day be a King as the 9-Year-Old told his classmates, “My dad will be king, so you better watch out.” The second in line to the throne, as per author Katie Nicholl, was tussling with friends in the school playground when the killer line emerged.
It’s said Prince George was at the elite £19K a year London prep school Thomas’s Battersea when he uttered the statement to his classmates.
Recently, he and his siblings, Prince Louis, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 7, now attends Lambrook, near Ascot, Berkshire, after the family moved to Windsor. In the book, The New Royals, Nicholl said George, alongside his two siblings, is being raised with the knowledge of the Monarchy and a sense of duty.
She added that while George has been told he will be Monarch one day, his parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, try not to weigh him down with many responsibilities.
“They are raising their children, particularly Prince George, with an awareness of who he is and the role he will inherit, but they are keen not to weigh them down with a sense of duty. George understands he will one day be king and, as a little boy, sparred with friends at school, outdoing his peers with the killer line, “My dad will be king, so you better watch out.”
Nicholl further claimed that Kate admires the parenting techniques of Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, who have children, Lady Louise Windsor, 18, and James Viscount Severn, 14.
Despite their parents being working royals, the children – the youngest grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip grew up without HRH titles and out of the public eye. Last week, George had joined his mum, dad, and sister at the Queen’s state funeral, but they were kept from the cameras while other royals greeted members of the public and viewed flowers left in the memory of the late monarch.
Author Robert Lacey had in 2021 written in a new chapter of his book “Battle of Brothers” that he found out about George’s future role sometime around his seventh birthday.
He wrote: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge previously held off on discussing their eldest son’s life of future royal service and duty to give him a normal family upbringing. William has not revealed to the world how and when he broke the big news to his son. Maybe one day George will tell us the story himself.”
However, if the conversation did take place on George’s seventh birthday, it means the youngster didn’t know he would be king one day when he stood in the Four Monarchs’ photo of December 2019 with the Queen, then 95, his father, William, and granddad Prince Charles, then 72. Before now, George had been kept away from the spotlight, only having him accompanying his parents to crucial events.
