‘Spider-Man’ Star Marisa Tomei Admits She Wanted Aunt May To Be With A Woman
There’s something about their love life in a super hero movie…?
In Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man,’ Aunt May who’ve lost Uncle Ben years after was finally starting another relationship with Happy. While the flirting interactions between the two characters were pretty cute, it turns out that Marisa was also interested to see Aunt May show diversity.
In an interview where Marisa talks about her role in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ Marisa told Geeks of Color, “There was a moment where I felt that May – maybe she should just be with a woman because Ben is gone.”
“And we were kind of talking about it. And so I actually really wanted Amy Pascal from Sony to be my girlfriend. I was like, ‘No one even has to know, Amy. I’ll just be in a scene and you’ll be over there. And I’ll just be like, ‘Hey!’ It’ll just be a subtle thing.”

Obviously, with the new love interest confirmed previously, her idea was shut down. Many people were expressing protests against the idea of changing the character as well.
