Woman With Double Mastectomies Asked To Wear A Bra At The Pool, So She Wore It
“She said I could use skin safe glue!”
Discriminations against people’s bodies are happening everywhere. A woman was experiencing it despite having a very flat chest when she went swimming at a local indoor pool in a dark-colored tank top without a bra. It is absolutely crazy how far people would go to power-trip others.
“I was told I had to wear a bra, so I did,” a woman shared her story on Reddit.
Having done double mastectomies, this woman finally found the most comfortable way to swim.
Regarding the man who had to deliver the rules, she explained, “He was very nice about explaining the rule, and I have no bad feelings towards him for just doing his job. The manager, on the other hand….”
She decided that she’d comply with the rules… with the malicious intention of staying comfortable.
You can’t be too covered up, nor too exposed. Women are so often bound to rules that control how their bodies should look to a nonsensical degree. Evidently, the Reddit post has received more than 34.8k upvotes, with many people thanking her for standing up to herself.
But the manager went as far as asking her to use skin-safe glue to keep a useless bra on her body.
One shared her own experience, “This is very reminiscent of my mother. She was an RN, and her nursing home dress code was ARCHAIC; they still could only wear white head to toe, white stocking, white nursing cap, and this was the 90s, so it was dated even then.”
“She hated the nursing caps, so she found the smallest flimsiest cap and folded up as small as she could, and every day pinned it to the back of her hair so you could barely see it. It looked ridiculous, but I respected it. Thank you for reminding me of her. And for standing up for yourself.”
Thanks to her, it was a win not just for her but for many other women with similar problems.
Many people were sharing recommendations on where they could find fitting swimsuits for women with mastectomy.
The funny thing is, many of these swimsuits are not even as tight-fitting and covered as the woman had worn. This means the manager had just purposely picked on a flat-chested woman who was minding her own business.
People praised the woman’s big brain conduct for keeping her right to swim comfortably.
