Woman With Blonde Hair Hits Back At Trolls Who Say She’s Not Indigenous
She explains why it’s not okay.
An influencer with almost 400k followers on TikTok hits back and trolls who think she lies about being Aboriginal. Kate Maree Cooper, a 22-year-old Australian based in New South Wales, went viral with a dancing clip where she captioned, “Wiradjuri mob.”
However, one of the comments refused to accept that she’s one of the tribe’s members.
“We all have that one friend who thinks she’s indigenous… but just isn’t,” read the comment. Kate had decided to address the negative comment and gave an analogy.
“It’s not ok, I identify as an Aboriginal woman.”
She dubs the comment “hurtful” and “unjustified.” She continued, “Just because I have fairer skin, blue eyes, and dye my hair blonde, doesn’t take away that I’m Aboriginal.”
She then gave an analogy to help people understand.
“It doesn’t matter how much milk you put in coffee, it’s always gonna be coffee.”
Kate never specifies who in her ancestry was part of the Wiradjuri tribe, however, she’s received positive comments for the way she handled it!
