Woman Tearfully Reveals She Was ‘Disowned’ By Parents For Refusing To Fund Sister’s Lavish Lifestyle
It can be destructive to have a favorite in a family.
Thea Pham can’t hide how badly she’s hurt after her Asian parents disowned her. And as she was informed, the decision emerged because she expressed being fed up with footing the bill for her sister, an international student in the United States, who lives quite a lavish lifestyle.
The arrangement for funding her sister started three years ago and saw Thea’s parents send the sister over from Vietnam with no means of support.
It only meant that Thea was left to cover her tuition, housing, and living expenses. “She has been completely ungrateful and completely irresponsible with the money,” Thea said of her sister in her now-viral TikTok clip. She gave an instance of finding herself to cover her sister’s debt with her friends because she spent the money that could have paid the debt on shopping trips, Uber Eats orders, and nights out.
“I hesitated to post this videos because my whole life, I was told to never air dirty laundry. I’m not asking for help, just a safe space to vent,” reads the caption.

The incident that finally compelled Thea to stop the fund happened recently. It saw her sister use her credit card for a $500 shopping spree.
As anyone would react, the mentioned above is enough to cut off her sister, but in a twist, her parents have branded her stingy and ungrateful. According to them, Thea attained the height she is today because they were there to support her, and so she owes them a lifetime of financial security. “So I am their retirement fund, the college fund for my younger siblings, and I feel trapped,” Thea expressed.
