Woman Rescued From Florida Storm Drain 3 Weeks After She Got Lost Exploring A Tunnel

Humans are naturally curious, so we can’t largely blame Lyndsey Kennedy, who decided to explore a tunnel. Lyndsey eventually got trapped in the sewer system on March 3rd when she went swimming in a canal near her BF’s house.

According to a police report, the 43-Year-Old claim she had spotted the tunnel in the canal and went checking it out. She walked around the sewer for about three weeks before spotting some light in the storm drain and settled there since people were walking above her.

Thankfully, she’s rescued by firefighters who pulled her out of the eight-foot-deep drain under a sidewalk in Delray Beach after a pedestrian heard cries for assistance. Reportedly, Lyndsey’s mom informed investigators that her daughter had a history of mental illness and drug use, including a history of doing odd things and making bad decisions when high on drugs.

Thankfully, Lyndsey was rescued by firefighters who pulled her out of the eight-foot-deep drain under a sidewalk.

So far, Delray Beach Police Spokesman Ted White claims the investigation showed no signal of foul play.

It appears this was done by her own free will.” Photos of firefighters lifting Lyndsey out of the drain using a harness and ladder have since been uploaded online, and it showed Lyndsey covered in white sheets due to her lack of clothing. 

Lyndsey’s mom informed investigators that her daughter had a history of mental illness, drug use, doing odd things, and making bad decisions.

Lyndsey was covered in white sheets due to her lack of clothing, had dirt in her hair, was weak to stand straight, and had minor bruises.

Lyndsey equally had dirt in her hair, was weak to stand straight, and had minor bruises. She was taken to Delray Medical Center for treatment and even underwent a mental health evaluation following her mom’s claims. However, the police report, which dubbed Lyndsey as very lucid, also stated that she’s a methadone and has had her last dose on March 2nd, a day before she went lost.
